Ganoderma multipileum is a tropical species widely distributed in Asia. It was historically confused with G. lucidum but has been identified as a distinct lineage. It is frequently the species sold as 'Antler Reishi' in commercial cultivation kits due to its propensity to form branched, antler-like structures when grown in high-CO2 environments, although it forms shelf-like conks in the wild. The conks are reddish-brown and varnished, similar to G. lingzhi, but genetic analysis separates them. It is a vigorous grower in tropical and subtropical climates and is cultivated extensively in Taiwan and India.
