Hamigera is a genus of soil fungi characterized by the production of heat-resistant ascospores, making them significant in the food industry as potential spoilage agents of heat-processed fruits. Originally erected to accommodate species resembling Talaromyces but with distinct ascus formation, it is now confirmed as a separate genus within Aspergillaceae. It is phylogenetically distinct from Talaromyces (which belongs to the family Trichocomaceae).
