A graceful, white-capped mushroom that closely resembles the Horse Mushroom (A. arvensis) but is typically found in woodlands rather than pastures. It is noted for its pleasant aniseed odor and the tendency of its cap and stem to yellow slowly when bruised. It is a popular edible species in Europe.
