Freckled Dapperling
A fairly large lepiotoid mushroom with a brown cap broken into erect, pointed, pyramidal scales and a large cottony ring. It grows in woodland and, increasingly, on wood-chip mulch in parks and gardens. It has been linked to a coprine-like reaction when eaten with alcohol and is treated as poisonous.
Poisonous; do not eat. Although sometimes listed as edible, it has been linked to a coprine-like reaction (alcohol intolerance), and Wikipedia describes it as possibly poisonous. It is a lepiotoid mushroom like the deadly amatoxin-containing small Lepiotas, and it can resemble some deadly Amanita species.
