Grifola sordulenta is a polypore species closely related to Grifola frondosa, found in the temperate forests of South America. It forms large, compound fruiting bodies with multiple pilei. While morphologically similar to other Grifola species, it is genetically distinct and exhibits different growth kinetics in culture. It is often studied alongside G. gargal for its nutritional and medicinal properties.
