Heteroradulum is a recently validated genus established to accommodate species with odontioid (toothed) or raduloid hymenophores that were previously scattered among other genera like Eichleriella or Heterochaete. These fungi form crust-like patches on wood and are distinguished by their specific basidial morphology and genetic distinctness within the family.
Basidiocarps are resupinate (crust-like) to effused-reflexed, with a leathery texture. The hymenial surface is typically covered in spines, teeth, or irregular outgrowths (raduloid). Basidia are obconical and longitudinally septate. Spores are cylindrical to curved.
