Flame Mycena
A small, brilliantly colored Mycena that fruits in groups on conifer needle beds and moss, mostly in mountain forests. The cap is red when young and turns bright orange, and the gills have darker orange edges. It is more common in western than in eastern North America.
Edibility unknown. It is too small to be of food value. Not recommended.
