A bird's nest fungus with shaggy, grayish-brown, urn-shaped cups whose rims flare outward with age. Inside, small light gray to pale brown 'eggs' (peridioles) sit loose in a sticky gel instead of being tethered by cords, as they are in Cyathus and Crucibulum. It grows in groups on woody debris and berry canes.
Edibility unknown. Far too small to be of food value.
