Parastereopsis is a small genus within the Cantharellaceae, described by E.J.H. Corner in 1976. It is a tropical genus that remains relatively obscure compared to the major chanterelle genera. The genus was established to classify species that did not fit comfortably into Thelephora or Stereopsis, showing affinities with the cantharelloid clade. Little is widely published on its ecology or cultivation potential, but it is maintained as a distinct genus in modern fungal classification systems.
