Torn Fibercap
A poisonous fibercap with a conical, straw-yellow to yellowish brown cap that splits radially at the margin. It contains muscarine, and serious poisoning can follow eating it. Long known as Inocybe rimosa or I. fastigiata, it was moved to Pseudosperma when Inocybaceae was split into several genera.
Poisonous; contains muscarine. Symptoms include sweating, salivation, tears, blurred vision, slow heart rate and gastrointestinal upset. Seek medical care after any ingestion. It has been mistaken for edible Tricholoma terreum and Suillus granulatus. Do not eat any fibercap.
