Rubroboletus is a genus established in 2014 to accommodate the 'Boletus sinicus' group and several red-pored species formerly placed in Boletus section Luridi. This genus includes several large, visually striking boletes, some of which are notoriously poisonous (like the Satan's Bolete), while others are edible. They are genetically distinct from the core Boletus group.
