Cracked Hydnum
A Pacific Northwest tooth fungus with a brown, violet-tinted cap that becomes scaly and cracked with age, and brownish-pink spines running down the stem. It grows in groups under pines and in conifer forests. Wikipedia still lists it in Sarcodon.
Edibility unknown; not recommended. No source checked reports it as eaten.
