Suillosporium is a small genus of corticioid fungi traditionally placed within the Botryobasidiaceae, though its exact phylogenetic position has occasionally been debated (sometimes linked to Trechisporales). It was established to accommodate species that resemble Botryobasidium in their thin, hypochnoid basidiocarps and broad hyphae but differ significantly in cystidial morphology and spore characteristics. The genus is less common than Botryobasidium and includes species found on specific herbaceous substrates as well as wood.
