Weeping Bolete, Granulated Bolete
The weeping bolete: a sticky-capped bolete without a ring whose pale yellow pores exude milky droplets when young. It is ectomycorrhizal with pines; eastern North American collections formerly given this name are now Suillus weaverae.
Edible, though opinions on quality vary. Peel the slimy cap cuticle and remove the tubes before cooking. It can cause contact dermatitis in people who handle it and has caused gastric upset in some people.

Mycology is an evolving science: names, classifications and safety information change as research advances. Entries are compiled from cited sources and reviewed, but may be incomplete or out of date — check the sources, and never rely on this library alone to identify or eat a mushroom.
