Carnation Earthfan
A small, thin-fleshed, rosette- or funnel-shaped earthfan on a short central stem, purple-brown with zoned, radially fibrous upper surfaces and a pale, torn, fringed margin. It forms ectomycorrhizae with conifers and grows on poor soil, often beside paths.
Not a food species: thin and leathery. Treat as inedible.
