Scurfy Twiglet
A small cinnamon-brown mushroom that fades as it dries and often has white veil flecks on the cap margin. It grows on woody debris, wood chips and twigs, often in cool seasons. It is easily confused with deadly Galerina species.
Not recommended: too small to be worthwhile and easily confused with deadly Galerina marginata (amatoxins), which has a darker rusty-brown spore print and often a ring zone. Do not collect small brown mushrooms from wood for food.
