Penicilliopsis is a genus of striking, macroscopic fungi often found on seeds in tropical regions. Unlike the microscopic molds typical of the family, Penicilliopsis species can produce large, stalked, brightly colored stromata (fruiting bodies). It has a complex history but is now firmly placed in Aspergillaceae, sister to the Aspergillus clade.
