Common Dung Cup
Peziza vesiculosa, the common dung cup, is a pale brown cup fungus that grows, often in clusters, on manure, composted straw and other nutrient-rich soil. It is common in Europe and also occurs in North America. Like many Peziza species it is hard to separate from relatives without microscopy.
Considered poisonous; cooking may neutralize the toxins, but it is not recommended for eating. MykoWeb lists its edibility as unknown.

Mycology is an evolving science: names, classifications and safety information change as research advances. Entries are compiled from cited sources and reviewed, but may be incomplete or out of date — check the sources, and never rely on this library alone to identify or eat a mushroom.
