Geosmithia is a genus of anamorphic fungi that has recently been moved to the family Bionectriaceae based on molecular phylogenetic evidence, having historically been associated with the Eurotiales. These fungi are obligate associates of subcortical insects, particularly bark beetles. Unlike the related genus Penicillium, Geosmithia species do not produce green colonies, instead appearing white, yellow, orange, or brown.
