Conocybe is a large genus of small, delicate mushrooms known for their conical or bell-shaped caps and slender, fragile stems. They are ubiquitous in grassy areas and are often referred to as 'LBMs' (Little Brown Mushrooms). While many are harmless saprotrophs, the genus is notable for containing species with significant toxicity (amatoxins) and others with psychoactive compounds, making identification critical.
