Field Blewit, Blue Leg
Lepista personata (Fr.) Cooke (often treated as L. saeva) is the field blewit of European pastures: a stocky mushroom with a pale buff to clay-colored cap and a striking lilac to violet, fibrous stem. It fruits late in autumn, often in rings, in grassland rather than woodland. It is a traditional market mushroom in parts of England and France.
Choice edible when well cooked; avoid raw. Confirm pinkish spore print to separate from Cortinarius species.
Never eat a wild mushroom based on a web page — confirm with an expert.
