Leucocoprinus is a genus of small to medium-sized saprobic fungi. They are closely related to Leucoagaricus and Lepiota but are generally more fragile. The genus is famous for Leucocoprinus birnbaumii, the bright yellow mushroom frequently found growing in indoor potted plants worldwide. They are decomposers of organic matter and are often associated with anthropogenic environments.
