Giant Oyster, Zhudugu, Hed Taen Rad
Pleurotus giganteus (Berk.) Karun. & K.D. Hyde (basionym Lentinus giganteus) is a large, centrally stalked, funnel-shaped tropical oyster mushroom of South and Southeast Asia and southern China. Unlike most oysters it fruits from the ground, from buried wood or roots, and has a long central stem. It is cultivated commercially in China and Thailand and valued for a firm, crunchy texture.
Choice edible; firm texture holds up in soups and stir-fries.
