Birch Knight
A reddish-brown Tricholoma associated with birch, recognised by its yellow gills that spot brown and the yellow flesh inside a hollowing stem. It is common in Europe and less often recorded in North America. Edibility reports conflict.
Edibility disputed: some guides list it as edible but poor, others as inedible. Not recommended. Brown Tricholoma species are hard to tell apart and several cause gastrointestinal poisoning.
