A white Tricholoma with a smooth, shiny cap that may turn yellowish at the centre, and no distinctive odour. It is mainly a European taxon; MushroomExpert.com treats it as a synonym of T. columbetta, and its use for North American collections is doubtful. White Tricholomas can be confused with deadly white Amanitas.
Not recommended. Older guides listed it as edible, but some sources group it with Tricholoma species that cause gastrointestinal poisoning. White Tricholomas also resemble deadly white Amanitas (amatoxins), which have a ring, a volva at the stem base and free gills.
