A grey Tricholoma with a pointed, bell-shaped cap streaked with darker radial fibres and a hot, peppery or bitter taste. It can upset the stomach and is one of the grey Tricholomas that make the group risky for foragers.
Not edible: can upset the stomach (gastrointestinal irritant). Its hot, peppery taste and pointed, streaked cap separate it from the edible grey T. terreum and T. portentosum.
